Aloe Vera is one of our most popular house plants, all year round.

The Aloe Vera plant is a lovely succulent, with thick, variegated leaves. Aloe Vera Plants are easy to keep (indoors – they are a houseplant here in the UK!) – and they are useful too! People use the juice from the leaves to relieve pain from burns.

Description

It is renowned for its healing properties – it has antioxidant and antibacterial properties. People use it to help heal burns, to reduce dental plaque, to help treat mouth ulcers. Many people use it as a natural skin cream.
We like it as it’s pretty! Shown here in ceramic pot (comes with saucer) or if you already have a pot, you can just buy the Aloe Vera as it comes with a plastic pot.
Latin Name: aloe barbadensis
Native to: Africa (and other areas)
Likes: Normal room temperature (indoors – it’s a house plant)
Loves: Being watered thoroughly, in the summer months, and then let it completely dry out. Hates being drowned!
Doesn’t like: Being drowned! Being cold!
Water: Better to water once a week (or once a fortnight) a lot and then let it dry out completely, before you water again. Let it completely dry out. In the winter, when it’s dormant, less watering sessions!

Got pets? Well, can’t imagine they’d want to eat your plant – aloe juice doesn’t taste very nice.

    Swiss Cheese Plant

    £ 30.00£ 50.00

The Swiss Cheese Plant is enjoying somewhat of a revival, and is proving very popular with our customers here at your independent London Garden Centre in Battersea!

This icon of the 1970s (!) is a great indoor plant, with lush leaves (with holes – hence the name Swiss Cheese Plant).

Shown here in a wicker basket, or a concrete (style) planter.

We’ve got all sorts of pots / planters that you could choose from.

    Latin Name: Monstera deliciosa

Native to: Tropical rainforests of southern Mexico, south to Panama.

    Height: Approx 70cm

    Likes: Normal room temperature.

Loves: Clean the leaves with a damp cloth.

Doesn’t like: Direct sunlight (the leaves may go yellow), or dark corners. And being outside!

Water: Better to water once a week a lot (better too if you can sit the plant in a sink with water in it for a couple of hours) and then let it dry out (a bit!), until next time, rather than doing a splash of water every day.

  • Trailing House Plant Selection

    Trailing Indoor Plant Selection

    £ 25.00

A beautiful selection of 3 trailing plants for indoor use, in wicker baskets.

The selection includes a dark green ivy, a variegated ivy, and a creeping wire vine.

All thrive indoors, and can be in the kitchen, in the living room, on the top of bookshelves, or on a bathroom window sill.

Ivy and creeping wire vine are easy to look after, so are great houseplants!

    Wicker basket is approx 15cm.

    Trailing between 10 and 15cm.

Care: Really easy to look after. Water the plants once a week (or more if you have a hot home!) – best to sit the plants in a sink or pan of water for an hour or so, so that all of the soil gets wet, and then make sure the plants aren’t permanently sitting in water so that they don’t drown!

Likes: These are all pretty easy going plants! Actually they can be indoor our outdoor plants.

Dislikes: Like anything, they want water to live.

Pets? Ivy could be toxic to pets if eaten.
